Clairinet, Flute, Trumpet, Oboe, Trombone, Sax & Bassoon
I grew up in a very small town in Northern New York and have now been living in Florida for 5 years. I have been playing the Clarinet for 18 years and the Saxophone for 16. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Music Education from Ithaca College in New York, studying with Clarinet professors Dr. Alan Woy and Dr. Richard Faria. During both high school and college, I participated in numerous NYSSMA solo and ensemble festivals, as well as many All County and All State festivals. I have had the opportunity during college to play a wide range of secondary/auxiliary instruments such as Eb Clarinet, Alto Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Eb and Bb Contrabass Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone,Trombone, and even hand bells. I have had the honor to perform with the Ithaca College Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, All-Campus Band and hand bell choir. Since moving to Florida I have had the opportunity to play with the Lakeland Concert Band and the Eastern Hillsborough Community Band.
I have been teaching privately for 12 years and started by volunteering to teach underclassmen in high school, to help them better understand their instrument and the music. It then grew to teaching lessons out of my home during my years in college. Having had to study each instrument during college, I am proficient on and able to teach: Recorder, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, and Trombone. Over the years I have had students of all ages, ranging from 7-70. No matter your age, if you're interested and willing to learn, it's never to late to try. You may even find some hidden talent you thought you would never have!
If you would be looking for something a little earlier in the day, I am available to teach during the early afternoon hours of 12pm-4pm. These hours seem to work well for students who may be homeschooled and could come during the day. I have also found that for a lot of adult students, these times can also be more convenient with their schedules. I look forward to working with you!
