Brass
Antonios George Molfetas has a B.A.in Music from Florida State University,
and is currently pursuing a Masters in Trumpet Performance and Conducting
from The University of South Florida. He is the Resident Trumpet Performer
of Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon, a member of The Florida Wind Band,
and a member of the Mostly Pops Orchestra of Brandon. He also works as a
freelance musician in Daytona Beach, Tallahassee, Sarasota and the greater
Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg areas. Antonios has been teaching brass
privately for 7 years to all ages and levels through private lessons,
sectional and ensemble coachings and clinics. He has worked as a Graduate
Assistant at USF with the Herd of Thunder (HOT) Marching Band, and has
taught undergraduates applied lessons, as well as music history courses.
His trumpet instructors include Professor Peter Waidelich of Daytona State
College, Professor Bryan Goff and Dr. Christopher Moore of Florida State,
Tom Macklin of Stetson University, and Dr. Jay Coble of the University of
South Florida. He has studied conducting with Dr. William Wiedrich, and Dr.
John Carmichael of USF. Currently Mr. Molfetas is the conductor of the USF
Brass Choir, and USF Summer Band.
