Piano

David Meder has been classically trained on the piano since age 8. Since beginning his studies he has won both the Mid-State Music Teachers Association Classical Piano Competition and the District 7 Piano Concerto Competition in 2002 and 2004. David is also dedicated to the jazz tradition. He has studied jazz piano with Per Danielsson (USF) and Joe Gilman (American River College). David has been the pianist for the Florida All-State Jazz Band since 2005, and was recently selected as one of three pianists from the nation to participate in the Dave Brubeck Summer Jazz Workshop at University of the Pacific. He is also a percussionist at King High School, where he is captain of the drumline and principal chair timpanist/percussionist. In his spare time, David leads his own local R&B/funk band and plays tennis.
