Landin "Lannie" Battistini was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Naturally loved music from the tender age of 5 and developed his gift when his grandmother bought him a toy piano in which he would play all the tunes he heard on the radio. By the age of 15 and never having taken one music lesson, his mother was booking him to entertain guests at Hotels and at private parties. By the time he was 19 yrs. of age, he was accepted at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston and by 23 yrs. of age, he earned his degree majoring in Arranging, Composition with minor in Film scoring and the piano as his main instrument.

Although Lannie has excelled in most music genres, His Jazz roots were inspired by some of the “greats” such as Oscar Peterson, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Tito Puente, and Keith Jarett.

Following his “Latino” heritage, he is known for his unique eclectic style incorporating Latin rhythms to his original compositions as well as with other Jazz standards. Throughout the years, he has performed either as guest artist or with his Hands In Motion Latin Jazz Band in many jazz festivals and concert series such as, the, Borinquen Jazz Fest, Heineken Jazz Fest, Rumbeando Jazz Concert Series, Picante Jazz Concert series & Jazz del Patio Concerts in Puerto Rico. In Florida, the St. Pete Fridays Jazz Concert Series, (WSJT 91.4) Clearwater Jazz Holiday Fest, St. Armand Jazz Fest of Sarasota, Florida Summer Fest 2008, the Florida State Fair 2008 and 2009 , WDNA Fine Arts Concert Series in Miami and “Viva la Musica”, at Seaworld in Orlando and in Busch Gardens just to mention a few.

In his 29 years dedicated to his music, he has won numerous recognitions, certificates and awards for his song-writing abilities as well as performances. He has had the honor to share live stages as pianist/keyboardist with known legendary artists and groups such as: Batacumbele, Giovanni Hidalgo, Dave Valentin, Papo Vazquez, Rie Akagi (The magic Flute from Japan), Humberto Ramírez, Luis “Perico” Ortiz, Pedro Guzman, Charlie Sepulveda, Anthony Carrillo, Paoli Mejias, and Jose Feliciano, to name a few. Also toured throughout the US and Latin America for Internationally known Latin Pop artists such as; Ednita Nazario, Victor Manuel and Olga Tañon.

While touring with Olga Tañon for a couple of years, Lannie was the pianist/keyboardist who participated in the Live CD Album recording of, “Olga Viva, Viva Olga”, at the ”House of Blues” which won the Grammy in the Merengue category of 2001 and nominated the year before for the same.

For a while, he also lived in Los Angeles where he was involved with Kenny Passarelli, bassist for Elton John and producing certain songs for the record label, Acid Jazz Records.

In 1994, he opened the Hands in Motion Music Production studio as a freelance producer for Independent recording artist’s in All music genres & jingle producer for Ad agency’s. Since then, he has spent most of his time producing, composing, arranging, and applying his song-writing abilities for over 40+ recording artists including his own original theme songs which were included in the Classic CD Album, “Jibaro Jazz” Vol. 6 of the virtuoso, “Cuatro Player” Pedro Guzman. This album was released through Polygram Records and sold over 50,000 copies.

At present, he is living in Florida, USA and headquartered his business, the Hands In Motion Music Production Studio and Ad Media Agency. He also teaches, Voice and Piano Music Showcase (The Florida Academy of the Performing Arts) in Brandon, Florida.

Finally, after many years of not making "the time," Lannie's first CD Latin Jazz Album, “Hands In Motion” was released through his own label, Hand ins Motion Music, in the spring of 2009 and his most recent CD, “En La Coma” was just releases April 15, 2011. This collection of original and some cover songs, not only demonstrate his God-given talent as arranger, composer, songwriter and pianist, but also conveys to the listener the true meaning of letting the love for music flow from his Creator through his fingertips.
