My name is Paula Gaskins. I am 46 years old and the mother of 2 grown biological children and one adopted son. I will be married 26 years this October to my husband, Tom. I was born in Reading, PA. Starting in sixth grade I spent half the year in Bernville, PA on my grandmother’s farm and the other half of the year here in Tampa, FL. I graduated from Wilson High in Pennsylvania and attended Leto High while residing here in Tampa. I graduated 1-1/2 years early in January 1976 and attended Penn State University for two years. At eighteen I decided to give my frozen bones a break and make Tampa my permanent home. I have always loved music. I play all keyboards, trumpet and am a vocalist. My greatest musical loves are the trumpet and singing. I am in charge of the music programs at my church and you will find me singing karaoke when I’m not performing at special functions. I have been told that I am very crafty as I have several craft projects which I make and I sell floral arrangements on-line. I have worked with children and teens all my adult life. While my children were small I ran a daycare from my home. When they were elementary and middle school age I worked in the School Safety department of the Sheriff’s Office as well as served on boards of their PTA, Little League and travel ball programs. During their high school years I worked as secretary to the boss and in advertising for an over the counter pharmaceutical company. Then, I found my home three years ago here at Music Showcase. Here I am able to combine my organizational skills with my love of music and our youth. The hours are sometimes long but I truly love the people and students I work with here at Music Showcase.
