Ryan Bledsoe, a native of San Diego, California has rapidly distinguished herself as a saxophonist and chamber musician. Bledsoe is a former saxophone teaching assistant Arizona State University, where she received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Saxophone Performance. While in this position, her teaching duties included teaching studio saxophone and coaching the undergraduate and graduate saxophone quartets. As a performer, Bledsoe has been the recipient of numerous scholarship and grants to further her career. She has been a featured soloist with the Arizona State University Wind Symphony under the baton of conductor Gary Hill and has been involved in feature performances at the College Band Director's National Association. In 2004, she was a finalist at the Music Teacher's National Association Chamber Music Competition.

As a Founding member and alto saxophonist with the Helios Saxophone Quartet, Bledsoe won first prize at the 2003 Coleman Chamber Music Competition (Pasadena, CA), the Gold Medal at the world-renowned Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition ( South Bend, IN) and the Grand Prize for Chamber Ensembles at the Arizona Contemporary Music Society Competition in 2002 and 2003. In March 2005, she traveled to New York to compete with the Helios Saxophone Quartet as a semifinalist in the Concert Artists Guild International Competition. With the quartet, she also performed music of Czech composer Jindrich Feld in a feature recital at the Thirteenth World Saxophone Congress. Bledsoe has been a part of numerous world premiers with the Helios Saxophone Quartet, which include the premier of David Stanhope's Songs Without Words for Saxophone Quartet and Wind Ensemble (Reno NV) and Robert Palmer's Dreamscapes (Brevard, NC). As a soloist, she has recently commissioned electronic musician and composer, Julian Peterson, to write a piece for saxophone and interactive electronics. She plans to premiere this collaboration at the 2006 North American Saxophone Alliance conference in Iowa.

Bledsoe's principle saxophone studies have been with acclaimed saxophonist Joseph Wytko. She currently resides in the Tampa Bay, Florida area where she maintains a busy teaching schedule.
