Walter C.

Drums, Voice, Acting

Walter C.Walter Chism Jr., also known as Walt Breezy, hails from Chicago and is a drummer, producer, concert promoter and former member of the U.S. Army Band. He quickly learned to play the drums by ear at age 5, upon receiving his first drum set from his dad. He then continued to sharpen his skills playing at his church and for family and friends. By the time Walt reached high school, he was already playing at an advanced level without any formal training, but soon began musical study. He joined an award-winning marching band, a jazz band and the symphony orchestra, and went on to play in the U.S. Army for six years. In addition, he was hired as a studio drummer for a recording studio in Monterey, CA, and also played with the 80's super group Shalamar. Sought after by several professional groups, Walter has also played with Special Touch, BTA and a jazz quintet called Q. He has opened for Atlantic Starr, Evelyn Champagne King, Nu Shooz and Jermaine Jackson.

In addition to playing in the army and performing, Walter later went into production and concert promotion, and has had the opportunity to work with several up and coming artists in his hometown of Chicago, including Marshall Thompson, the lead singer of the Chi Lites. He has promoted some of the music industries' top performers, including Twista, Kanye West, Jazmine Sullivan, Steve Cole and more.

Now in Florida, Walter is on a quest to discover talented local artists in the south, and to share his knowledge and experiences with his students. Along with his partner Aasan Swamburger Brooks, he will be promoting several events in the Orlando area, and looks forward to continued relationships with various major labels, artists and industry executives. Bringing over 40 years of experience to Music Showcase, Walter can take any student to the next level!
