The spotlight is shining bright on our Showcase Players Jr. (Grades 6–8) this weekend (October 18 and 19) as they bring the classic musical Bye Bye Birdie Youth Edition to life! Under the direction of the talented Miguel Oquendo, our middle school performers have been rehearsing their hearts out — and trust us, the result is pure joy, energy, and fun!
Set in the rockin’ 1960s, Bye Bye Birdie is a feel-good favorite packed with catchy tunes, big laughs, and unforgettable characters. Teen idol Conrad Birdie is headed off to the Army, but not before one last publicity stunt — a farewell kiss for lucky Kim McAfee! What follows is a whirlwind of music, mischief, and mayhem that’ll have audiences of all ages smiling from ear to ear.
🎶 Expect all the beloved songs you know and love — “Put on a Happy Face,” “One Last Kiss,” “A Lot of Livin’ to Do,” and more — performed by an incredible cast of young local talent who can’t wait to take the stage and share their hard work with you!
Bring your family, grab your friends, and make it a night at the theatre! These kids have poured their hearts into every note, step, and line, and you won’t want to miss their amazing performances.
