Working (2012 Version)

There’s something truly special about a group of young performers coming together to tell stories that matter – and this weekend, our incredible Showcase Players (Grades 9–12) are doing exactly that.

Join us for the Spring 2026 production of Working (2012 Version) -a powerful, entertaining, and deeply human musical inspired by Studs Terkel’s best-selling book of interviews with everyday American workers.

From teachers and waitresses to construction workers, caregivers, phone operators, and dreamers chasing something bigger, Working shines a spotlight on the people who keep the world moving every single day. Featuring music by legendary composers including Stephen Schwartz, James Taylor, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, this updated version blends humor, heart, honesty, and unforgettable music into a show that feels both timely and timeless.

But what makes this production especially meaningful is the cast behind it.

Our Showcase Players have poured their hearts into bringing these stories to life – rehearsing, collaborating, creating, and working together to build a production filled with authenticity, emotion, and energy. This talented group loves what they do, and it shows in every moment on stage.

Whether you love musical theatre, inspiring storytelling, or simply want to support hardworking young artists, this is a performance you won’t want to miss.

Come laugh, reflect, connect, and celebrate the beauty of the everyday stories that often go unseen.
