Ms. Yetta Mae Hansell has earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Temple University and Master in Music and Voice Performance from University of South Florida. Ms. Hansell has been performing in Operas, Zarzuelas, Musicals and various concerts throughout the Philadelphia, New York, St. Petersburg, and Tampa Bay area for the past 20 years.

Ms. Hansell has performed with Mozart n Friends Opera Company’s production of Tales of Hoffman, Opera North of Philadelphia in their production of Vanqui, South Florida Lyric productions of Pagliacci and Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial by Jury, St. Petersburg Opera Company production of Merry Widow, and Opera Tampa in productions of Un Ballo in Maschera, La Boheme, Carmen, La Traviata, and Madame Butterfly.

Ms. Hansell has also sang with Opera Tampa Chorus in the Andrea Bocelli concert at Tampa Forum. Ms. Hansell was selected to be guest soloist to sing the National Anthem at a Professional Bodybuilding show at Straz Center, guest soloist to sing the National Anthem at the Salon de Gala of Marital Arts Celebrity Awards Ceremony in St. Petersburg, where she received a prestigious award, and special guest soloist to sing at a private induction for the Mayor Buckhorm of Tampa.

Ms. Hansell has performed with various performing companies throughout the Tampa Bay area: Spanish Lyric Theatre, Bel Canto Opera Singers, where she is Assistant Artistic Director and Artistic Director, The Gala Singers, where she is Founder and Artistic Director and Tampa Spiritual Ensemble, where she is Founder and Director. Her most recent engagements include highlights from Phantom of the Opera and Madame Butterfly with the Pinellas Park Civic Orchestra, lead role of Marola in La Tabernera del Puerto with the Spanish Lyric Theatre and lead role of Lina in the World Premire Broadway Musical Clavico.

Ms. Hansell is K-12 is Music Teacher Certified and has taught private voice and piano and directed various singing groups and choirs for over 15 years. Ms. Hansell’s students have been selected to be in All County Choir, Entertainment Revue in Tampa, Encore Show Choir, Vocal Affinity Chorus, Solo and Ensemble, lead roles with Spanish Lyric Theater, and lead roles in Showcase Junior and Showcase Players with the Florida Academy of Performing Arts.

Ms. Hansell’s future plans include writing a book for singers on, How to Achieve Overall Wellness” and getting her Doctorate degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Music Education.
