Elaina Blevins received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Florida Southern College in May of 1987, and her Master of Science Degree in Education from National University in January of 1999. She has been teaching since 1987, and has taught in Florida, California, and Nevada. Ms. Blevins has taught PreK – 12th grades, and has taught a variety of subjects including, but not limited to General Music, Band, Orchestra, Show Choir, Piano, Music Technology, Music Theory, U.S. History, and World History. Last year she was proud to accomplish a lifelong goal by being a part of the faculty that opened the Riverview Academy of Math and Science. Opening a new school was an exciting challenge!
Ms. Blevins is passionate about helping students realize their full potential through the study of music. Her students develop leadership skills, become adept at problem solving, and become active participants in their own learning increasing their success in other academic areas. Her music students have received national recognition for their musical accomplishments and have performed for Disney internationally.
Ms. Blevins other professional activities have included work for the International Achievement in the Arts Awards as a Music Copyist and Music Librarian. She has also been a Professional Music Copyist for several Grammy winning recording artists and a member of the Rock -n-Roll Hall of Fame. In the 19-20 school year, she completed the Next To Lead program through Charter School Associates in preparation for pursuing a position as an administrator. She will soon be participating in a program to earn her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
